Ian has been with CAFN since 2002. You will find Ian based out of the Whitehorse office, although he frequently appears in Haines Junction. Ian works at planning and implementing economic programs, policies and organizations.
Some of this year’s projects include:
Forestry implementation, community process and 10 year forest harvest planning
Signing of a MOU with the Village of Haines Junction
Incorporation and structuring of the Champagne & Aishihik Community Corporation
Proposed Mining policy framework for CAFN settlement lands

Natalie has been with CAFN since 2005 and has had some successful outcomes with providing business support to our citizens.
While continuing to provide ongoing support to entrepreneurs who are interested in starting or expanding their business, Natalie has also coordinated and assisted with economic related workshops that contribute to the learning of entrepreneurship.

Doreen has been with CAFN since 1993 with a few different roles. Currently positioned as the Department’s Executive Assistant, Doreen’s primary roles include:
minute taking
letter writing
meeting and travel arrangements
amongst other responsibilities
As Doreen is a wealth of knowledge, she can usually answer most questions you may have even though they may not directly relate to her role. You can always find Doreen in her office in Haines Junction.

Sheila is the friendly person you hear or see when you call or drop into the Whitehorse office.
Sheila has been with CAFN since 2002 as the Receptionist for the Whitehorse Office. She will happily take your rent payments and direct your calls, while for the office, she ensures deposits are made, coffee is made and generally maintains the daily upkeep of the office.
The office just wouldn’t run as smoothly without her.

Fulfilling the reception duties in the Haines Junction office, Jocelyn is the first face you see when entering the admin building. She fields calls, greets the public and assists both the staff and members with faxing, photocopying and administrative tasks.
Jocelyn has been with CAFN since 2005 and is doing an excellent job.

Dayle you will find in the Human Resource Office working on staffing and staffing procedures, staff development planning, policy development and personnel policy research and development. Dayle has also been working on Implementing the HRIS (Human Resource Information System).
Dayle has been with CAFN since 2001.
Some upcoming highlights will be introducing the HRIS which will streamline and standardize HR processes while upgrading personnel record mgmt systems.

Kathy is the friendly face you will encounter if you are
applying on a job at CAFN. She helps with a variety
of human resources tasks, including:

Assisting with a wide variety of human resources tasks.
Kathy started work at CAFN in 2006 and
is quickly picking up additional skills and knowledge
that make her a real asset to our department.

Wes you can count on when your computer acts up. Wes began his work at CAFN in 2005 as our Information Technician.
Anything to do with computers at CAFN, Wes is likely involved. Wes sets up new user accounts for employees, provides network and computer troubleshooting. Regularly, he provides hardware and technical support, maintains and inputs information on website, and keeps the server and software up to date.
Every office needs a “Wes”.

The Haines Junction Community Justice Program is coordinated by Shawn Allen. Shawn is responsible for community justice initiatives including the Haines Junction Community Justice Committee (HJCJC), Circles (healing, diversion, sentencing); and other alternative dispute resolution processes for criminal and non-criminal disputes within the community. Shawn explains various court and legal processes and puts people in contact with the resources they need. She also works with the CAFN Justice Manager to provide links to CAFN justice activities.

Barb really has two roles. Coordinator for the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and researching, developing, consulting and negotiating for an administration of justice agreement for CAFN pursuant to section 13.6.0 of the CAFN SGA.
Barb has been with CAFN since 2001 but has worked as Co-Chair on the Corrections Consultation Project Team from 2004-2006.
Some upcoming goals for 2006/07 include: hosting info sessions with council, staff and citizens; participating in mediation skills training, and working with departmental staff to ensure Tribunal decisions are implemented.

Lilly is one of the longest-term employees of CAFN, with over 20 years of dedicated service.
Lilly helps elders and membership by coordinating meetings and workshops for the Elders Senate, and frequently assists elders and members as with applications, legal documents, income tax preparations, and passport applications. Lilly also:
Liaisons with other First Nation Governments, Territorial and Federal Government agencies on behalf of the CAFN membership.
Maintains the Aboriginal Information Systems (AIS) database of CAFN citizens.
Participates and provides support to the Population Database Technical Committee, internal committees and working groups, etc.
Stores the official copies of all CAFN laws (law registry).
Enrollment Officer – issues and receives enrollment and status applications; research family trees; prepares applications for Council review; etc.
